Well, it's been awhile since my last update, so I thought I'd get one in before the end of 2011. Firstly, LiveBandCast is fully operational and have 4 awesome videos from 4 sweet bands on our website. Speaking of websites, our mate Patto has created us our brand new one that make the old one look, well, old! So in 2012 will see LiveBandCast publish a lot of rad bands from around the globe. In the process of being completed is the band from Perth called Break Even. We recorded their set when they played at Shed 5 on the Gold Coast a few weeks ago and will have their entire set uploaded to our website very soon.
Yesterday I bought a new MacBook Pro for myself and LiveBandCast. Now I don't have to carry my PC, monitor, keyboard and mouse to each LiveBandCast gig! Secondly I have installed Protools on the Mac so I can finally get the Forefold recording sessions open to edit/mix and do the final tweaking so Forefold can have a tangible product for their farewell as a band.
You can check out the brand new LiveBandCast website here: http://www.livebandcast.com.au

The Lodge are recording their debut 7 track ep and are just over half way in the process. It is sounding rad and I am sure it will raise a lot of pulses...
The two last projects I did at the end of last year are that of Army of Champions and Trust and Fall. They have been busy organising all the other processes independent bands need to do. Mastering, artwork, tour, printing and pressing. These releases are due for very soon in both hard and digital copies.
LiveBandCast is here! Well, sort of... On the 11th of Feb we recorded and filmed the band The Quickening at their gig at Fat Louies in Brisbane city. It went really well for us and The Quickening played a smokin set. With a few delays behind us post production has begun but only to stop with the main video cameras' audio and vision having glitches on it. This means the audio from the mixing desk and the camera do not line up in syncronisation. As this was our first attempt some huge lessons have been learned and this gives us more motivation to continue as we know the final result will be awesome.
LiveBandCast will be setting up for The Lodge's first gig on April 16 and if all goes to plan a few songs from this gig will be uploaded for viewing pleasure.
In other news I have started my post graduate Diploma of Education at Griffith University. By the end of this year I will be officially registered as an authorised teacher. Majoring in teaching music and computer studies for middle and senior years.

Trust and Fall have finished in the studio and it being mastered as we speak at West West Side Music in New York. It has been a massive 6 months of producing their debut EP but an unreal outcome. The EP is due out early in the new year and can't wait until it's out.
Army of Champions have also finished their second release and this new one boasts 8 tracks. The songs are awesome, catchy and I enjoyed producing this one. We captured the energy and had heaps of fun in the studio. The boys are looking into mastering in the next week or two so look out for it in the not too distant future...
It has been a massive year, I graduated university achieving a Bachelor of Popular Music, produced over 6 professional releases and working my part-time day job.
Next year will see a new business swing into action called LiveBandCast. It's going to combine myself and co-founder James Thompson. Currently it's in the early stages but you can check it out here:

Army of champions pre-production starts this weekend for their debut EP. The boys recorded their demo with myself just over a year ago and now they have a solid line-up of songs and are returning to smash out nine new tracks. The champs will put six songs on the EP and the remaining three will be for a split CD in the near future. The guys are booked into track the drums Friday the 3rd and Saturday the 4th of September then, in the following weeks will see them recording guitars, bass and vocals.
Trust and Fall's debut ep is almost finished now. We are putting on the final touches on it and then we will hit the mixdown stage. It should only take about a week as I have been editing and mixing as we've been going. Then the boys are looking at mastering their CD at the prestigious Sterling Sound in New York. The songs are sounding really polished and I can't wait until it is out for people to hear.
Forefold is more than half way through recording the last stage of the process which is vocals. It has been along time coming but at the same time it is getting there very quickly. The mixing will take place during late October early November and released early in the new year. I am teaming up with fellow engineer Caleb Sullivan who will be my other 'ears' during the mixing stage.

So it's time for a quick update; Well I have just put the final touches on Smoking Martha's first single "Fake Promises" . Smoking Martha are a new band from the Gold Coast/Brisbane area and I am proud to have popped their cherry in the recording department. We had heaps of fun in the studio and the song is available now via their myspace page.
Also just finished is the 3 track demo for Rico's Roughnecks and that to is also found on their myspace page.
The drums, bass and guitars are all recorded and mixed for Trust and Fall and they are ready to record the final stage of their debut ep which is vocals. The boys are booked in over a solid 2 weeks to smash the vox out so their stuff will be due for release in the not to distant future.
Matt Haora lead singer/song writer from the Brisbane band 'Army of Champions' is currently in the studio recording 4 of his original songs. The songs which are mostly all tracked now just need mixing. We have basically taken Matt's solo stuff, gone into the studio, added drums, bass, keys and heaps of percussion and come out with what I think will be a great little demo. That will be unleashed in early June and will have the songs available to listen to here.
Coming up is Stolen Bikes Ride Faster, they are booked in early June to record 2 songs for a vinyl split record. It's always fun recording the SBRF boys! Also Forefold will be finishing the vocals in my mid-semester holiday so the tracking will finally be finished on that sucker by the end of June.
Well that is about it for now, check back again soon ;)

Well, the production for 'Trust and Fall's' debut record is coming along very nicely. The drums are recorded, edited, mostly mixed and most importantly sounding awesome. We are half way through the guitars then with bass and vox to go to complete this badboy. In other news Brissie band 'Army of Champions' are on a hiatus, which leaves the boys from 'Stolen Bikes Ride Faster' and the epic band 'The Lodge' on my "to do" list. More updates soon.

Well this year has started off with me quite literally hitting the ground running. So far this year will see the production of the new Stolen Bikes Ride Faster, Army of Champions and Trust and Fall EP's. Trust and Fall are booked in to the studio to start the mammoth task of tracking drums for their debut EP. Although I must say Tim the drummer is a gun on the skins so he will most likely smash them out to perfection. Army of Champions are also starting their tracking on the 26th and I am really looking forward to that record being finished:) Also I have just finished recording and mixing a new band from Brisbane's Bayside area called Rico's Roughnecks. They are an awesome, tight band and have come out sounding really sweet. Two songs have been completed with another two being mixed as we speak so head over to their myspace for a listen.
Lastly Forefold's lastest album is still in the last stages of recording so it's not too far away from completion...
More updates to come, Cya soon.
